The glowplug component connecting process involves joining the heating rod (1) to the glowplug body (2) by creating a radial force acting on the body , thus producing a central press seat between the rod and the body. The seat may be produced by crimping a crimp region of the body over the heating rod, which is thus held in a centered position in the body.
