Vehicle passengers protection system with side air-bag

The passenger protection system (10) is mounted at the side of the vehicle roof (14), and has a gas generator (26) mounted immediately above the B pillar. The folded airbag is accommodated inside an elongated tubular housing with a curved end (21) at the rear end of the passenger compartment. The airbag may be pushed out through a slit in the tube, and deploys over the windows of the car.
