Method and apparatus for trimming an engine control system

A control system (10) trims a gas turbine engine (12) in real-time to provide a desired amount of thrust (56). The control system includes a controller (26) coupled to the engine for receiving inputs (30) from the engine regarding a status of the engine. The controller includes a processor and a non-volatile memory coupled to the processor. The processor is programmed to execute control logic. An engine power schedule (24) representing values (40) for a controlled variable is stored in the memory.
