Retaining device for a vehicle window pane

The mounting for a vehicle window (4), especially a safety glass rear window for a convertible, comprises a retaining frame (9) on which the window is mounted with adhesive (14) and a support frame to which the folding roof (2) is attached. The support frame consists of a connecting profile (10) to which the connecting section (3) of the roof is attached and has a mounting system (19, 21, 28, 33) which cooperates with fastening components (15, 23, 29, 34) attached to the retaining frame. The window and frame form a prefabricated system whose installation is independent of that of the roof.
