Modularly built engine

The IC engine has the different auxiliary systems for operation of the engine, e.g. the cooling system and the cooling pump, the fuel system and the fuel pump and the lubrication system and the lubrication pump, each provided as a modular component and driven independent of the crankshaft revs, via an electric, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or mechanical drive. An Independent claim for an operating method for an IC engine is also included.
