The device has a display unit (16) with an associated controller (12), a display unit scale (18) with graphical information and a first pointer element (17) that is automatically pointed at a position on the scale depending on at least one input parameter to the control unit. An additional manually variable number indicator (19) that can be integrated with the display unit varies in position depending on the manually entered value.
