A method and device for handling and presenting information associated with a target when driving a motor vehicle, to display and handle information in a highly visual and intuitive manner on a screen of a graphical display device (1) of a motor vehicle, such that the driver can measure his driving capabilities and improve them, without diminishing safety. In said method and device, in which selectable information is presented on the graphical display device (2), the target of at least one maximum parameter of the selectable information is entered into said control device (4) by means of an input device (3), and wherein the control device (4) divides the information for selection of the target of the maximum parameter into a plurality of sections.
