The rear axle (6) is pivoted at the center so that the wheels (3) are equally loaded. The pivot is at or near the center of a transverse bar hinged directly to the chassis frame at one end. The other end has a row of coil springs and dampers to permit movement of the bar and up-and-down movement of the axle.
