Method for automatic addressing the components of a bus system

Method has the following steps: controller (24) has operating records and bus addresses for each control unit relating to start and stop position of each actuator (32). The controller then commands each actuator controller (16-22) to move its actuator between start and stop positions. The controller then sends start and stop data to each actuator controller. This compares design parameters with measured parameters and selects the corresponding address.
