The device has a visual display unit (5) driven by the sound generator output (4) of a controler (3) and the visual display unit has an evaluation device (11) for converting the sound generator signals into control signals for the visual display unit. The evaluation device is a microcontroller or an electronic evaluation circuit. Independent claims are also included for the following: a display unit and the use of a controler with a sound generator output for controling a visual display unit.
