The invention relates to a light protection device that protects the cabin of a motor vehicle and the instruments located therein from overheating caused by solar radiation during parking. According to the invention, the light protection device for a motor vehicle windscreen consists of a fold sheet and sawtooth-shaped folds, wherein the folds are arranged perpendicular to the upper and lower edge of the sheet, and with fastening elements of the sheet on the inside of the windscreen in the form of suction elements with projections on the rear side of the suction elements, wherein openings are arranged at the upper corners of the sheet for interaction with the projections of the suction elements in the form of hooks, and wherein the lower edge of the sheet in its operating state is located near the windscreen on the instrument panel and can make contact with it.
