Headrest for vehicle seats

The head support (13) has a height adjustable holder element (16) with an upholstery support (17) for a head cushion (18). A hinge device is arranged between the holder element and the upholstery support to incline the head cushion about a rotation axis (21) transverse to the seat depth. The head cushion has an upholstery tongue (23) that extends downwards over the upholstery support to support the neck. The contour of the front face of the head cushion and the upholstery tongue follows the contour of the head and neck. The hinge device is constructed so that the rotation axis of the head cushion is outside the head support structure and always lies on the top of the back rest.
