The acoustic warning system has means for storing and playing back at least one analogue and/or digital tone signal. The signal transmitter is designed as a loudspeaker. The loudness of the played back tone signal is adjustable. The means for storing and playing back an analogue and/or digital tone signal has an analogue or digital input interface. The stored tone signal is played back by the action of a manually activated operating unit, or by a sensor and preferably a living being presence sensor.
