The circuit has an ADC (AD) that digitizes an analogue output voltage of an acceleration sensor (BS) for subsequent signal evaluation. The acceleration sensor is designed to detect high decelerations occurring in a crash. An amplifier (OP) amplifies low deceleration voltages so that the digital measurement signal (MS) derived from the amplified output voltage (UOV) from the ADC has a sufficiently high resolution.
