Method for detecting a faulty earth connection e.g. in a vehicle

The method serves for detection of a faulty ground connection in an electrical device (1), in particular of a motor vehicle. For this purpose, the following method steps are provided: determining a measured value of a detection parameter by means of a detection circuit (18) connected to at least one ground connection (9, 13); comparing the determined measured value with a settable reference value; determining a faulty ground connection when the measured value exceeds the reference value; transmitting an error message when a faulty ground connection is determined.
