The device includes a deceleration sensor. A monitoring circuit outputs an error signal if the difference between the deceleration (b ist) and a reference deceleration (b soll) lies below a selected threshold (b s), in the event of dangerous or automatic braking. The error signal causes an emergency line breaker of the vehicle to break the circuit. The error signal is only transmitted if a minimum speed of the vehicle is achieved. The deceleration sensor consists of a rotation sensor of the traction system of the vehicle, and is connected to differentiating circuits.
