Procedure and measuring system for monitoring the combustion in a diesel engine
DRIVE
July 4, 2001
The method involves measuring an ion current (10) in a combustion chamber (1) of the engine and evaluating the resulting ion current measurement signal to detect the combustion process in the combustion chamber. The evaluation of the ion current measurement signal enables misfires to be detected by numerically filtering the signal in the pulling mode and comparing it with a threshold value. Independent claims are also included for the following: a measurement system for monitoring the combustion state in a diesel engine.
