Bumper system for a motor vehicle

A bumper system (10) for a motor vehicle includes an energy absorber (44) and a bumper beam (16) interconnecting the energy absorber (44) and vehicle structure (18). The bumper system (10) includes a push bar (52) disposed below and operatively connected to the bumper beam (16) to deflect and rotate during an impact with an object by the bumper system.
