Bumper structure with integrated energy absorber

The arrangement has an energy-absorbing element arranged in a hollow space between a bumper (3) and a bumper cross beam (4) and designed as an injection-molded absorber (2). The injection-molded absorber is designed as an energy absorber integrated in a supporting structure (1) of the bumper and made from thermoplastic material e.g. polypropylene and polyamide, that is reinforced with glass or carbon fibers. A cover is arranged between the injection-molded absorber and the bumper for reinforcing the supporting structure and connected directly with the injection-molded absorber.
