Arrangement for stepwise adjusting a headrest
DRIVE
June 20, 2001
The support (16) for the sliding rod (1) used to mount the headrest cushion on is provided with a swivel joint fitting (3) including a braking pad support (20) arranged coaxial with respect to the swivel axis. The support is enclosed by a resilient material strip (14) around at least the majority of its periphery in order to form a braking pad. The resilient strip is non-rotatably secured to the headrest, and tilting the headrest will initially overcome a first holding force between the strip and pad support, and then once the maximum tilt angle is reached a second spring-loaded holding force between the strip and rod support is overcome, so that the rod support is uncoupled from the rod.
