Arrangement to mount components to a vehicle

The fixing device (1) attaches a component (2) such as an exhaust silencer or fuel tank, to the frame of the utility vehicle. The device includes a fitting plate which can be fitted to and removed from the vehicle, and a support element (22), projecting away from the fitting plate into a cavity (12) of the component.
