Starter device with an internal combustion engine and an electrical machine, in particular a starter-generator
DRIVE
June 13, 2001
The drive arrangement has an internal combustion engine and an electrical machine, esp. a starter-generator. The engine crankshaft (1) is connected to the rotor (2) of the electrical machine via an elastic element (3), especially a torsion damper element. Before starting the engine with the crankshaft stationary the rotor elastically biases the elastic element against the operating rotation direction. The crankshaft is assisted in its operating rotation direction by the tensioned elastic element for engine starting.
