Recognition device (1) connected to pair of antennas (2,3) remotely exchanges data with authenticated identification unit (11) worn by user. The antennas have pair of zones of coverage (Z1,Z2) which respectively exist within and outside the cabin of vehicle. When antenna is powered nominally, a dialog is triggered between recognition device and identification unit existing within one coverage zone during which power of other antenna is reduced so as to reduce corresponding coverage zone. A recognition device (1) provided within opening leaves (6-9) of vehicle and connected to pair of antennas (2,3) fixed to both sides of vehicle remotely exchanges data with authenticated identification unit worn by user. The pair of antennas have respective zones of coverages (Z1,Z2) existing respectively within and outside the cabin of vehicle. When dialog is triggered by user to identification unit existing within either one of zones of coverage, the corresponding antenna is nominally powered and the power of the other antenna is reduced so as to reduce other zone of coverage. Due to reduction of power in one antenna, the recognition device identifies location of identification unit.
