The chain guide (42) is for the steering shaft drive of an internal combustion engine and comprises a jaw with a basic body (46) and a slide lining body (48). The basic body incorporates (56,58) devices for fixing the guide to a housing part of the engine. The basic body as fixture device has a pin (58) which in the installed state of the chain guide engages in a recess of the housing part of the engine in a positive manner.
