Postgame Bolts

by Brandon

  • Shout out to JDub's Game 6 status for a brief interruption of free throw discourse.
  • Just a couple plays into the game and a clear goaltend on a Wemby block on McCain. Shout out to the Minnesota Timberwolves fans.
  • Lu Dort was great early. Hit a 3. Blocked Wemby at the rim. Stole from Wemby clean and fast for a breakaway dunk. Unfortunately, the rest of the game didn't go as well for Lu.
  • Jalen Williams checked into the game late in the 1st quarter. JDub officially back.
  • The game felt like it was lost when the Spurs hit a barrage of open 3s while Wemby sat for the first time. OKC has to win the non-Wemby minutes, and that's when San Antonio took control in Game 6.
  • OKC was down 22-35 after the 1st quarter. Spurs shot 8-14 from 3. OKC shot 1-6 from 3. And that concludes the 1st quarter analysis.
  • No flagrant on Carter Bryant's Ray Lewis impression on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Okay.
  • Cason Wallace was the whole reason OKC was only down 7 points at halftime. Cason was 4-4 FG and 3-3 from 3 for 11 points.
  • Honestly, a 7-point halftime deficit felt like a big win for OKC given they were losing the 3-point battle 6-18 to 11-25.
  • Has OKC considered the Isaiah Hartenstein push shot on every play offense
  • Is Wemby's hair pulling on Lu Dort going to get the viral treatment the Hartenstein/Castle one got?
  • That SGA step-back over Wemby was filthy.
  • Unfortunately, it was the last shot OKC made for the next 525,600 minutes.
  • The worst quarter of OKC's season finally, mercifully ended.
  • The Thunder and Spurs have clearly been the two best teams in the NBA all season.
  • Fitting that the first series in the league's newest, best rivalry is going to Game 7.
  • Game 7s on your home court are why winning the No. 1 seed is so important.
  • One game. The winner goes to the NBA Finals.
  • Loud City will be electric on Saturday night.

One Key Takeaway
