OPI Personnel Update
Hello! Big announcement today.
Congratulations toAntonella "Tony" Peterson for completing her Master of Public Health (MPH) at the Yale School of Public Health, focusing on health informatics! 🎉🎉🎉

But this is bittersweet, because it also means that Tony will no longer be an OPI Research Assistant. 😭😭😭
As y'all know, Tony has contributed tremendously to the OPI mission since she started her capstone work in Fall 2025.
You have seen her lead webinars about the F.I.T. Test (check it!), author numerous newsletters about opioid settlement Waste, Fraud, Abuse, and Mismanagement (WFAM), co-author the Unallowable Spending whitepaper, and lead the development of the opioid settlement WFAM Policy Briefs. And that is just the public-facing work!
All of this was done while balancing MPH coursework, mentoring, and her full-time job as an Army captain at Ft. Riley, where she took command of Irwin Army Community Hospital (IACH) Medical Company this January.
We know big things are in store for whatever you decide to take on next!
New Hires
Research thrives on collaboration, and we’re excited to grow the OPI team with Antonella “Tony” Peterson, MPH, who starts in June as our newest OPI Research Associate!
Tony, formerly an OPI Research Assistant, will continue to lead our work on WFAM Policy Briefs (we have a bunch more coming out soon!), the WFAM newsletter, and some fun new projects we have been cooking up...
NB, Tony will be staying on full-time in her command position at Ft. Riley, so we're thrilled that she has decided to lend her leisure time to advancing this work.
Welcome, Tony!
