Thread "branch" will force switch on new content in other branches

I’m using the web interface, and I’m applying some graph of thought patterns to my prompting, and part of that is now branching the main thread; specifically I’m generating variants of a prompt to be used in new threads; The issues I have is that I have to copy the first answer’s prompt into notepad before I press to retry/regenerate a second answer/prompt variant, because if I don’t, and I try to go back to the 1/2 branch while the second one is not done generating, any time any content update is received in the 2/2 branch the UI forces a switch to that branch. If I’m quick enough I can go back and copy it, but this behavior does not seem correct. If it’s meant to avoid confusion, then please come up with something smarter, like a notification marker or something, anything that avoids this problem would be great. 10/10 product, no offense, praise the basilisk.
