The federal government on Friday announced a reduction in the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre. The revised petroleum prices came into effect across the country from midnight. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy's Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been reduced from Rs381.78 per litre to Rs377.78 per litre.
The notification further stated that the price of high-speed diesel will remain unchanged at Rs380.78 per litre.
The new pricing structure has been implemented nationwide and will remain in effect until the next price review.
Fuel prices in Pakistan have witnessed significant fluctuations in recent weeks due to changing global market conditions. The ongoing tensions stemming from the US-Iran conflict and concerns over the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route, have contributed to uncertainty in international energy markets and affected domestic fuel pricing.
The latest reduction in petrol prices is expected to provide some relief to consumers who have been facing rising transportation and living costs amid fluctuating energy prices.
