Marco Bezzecchi Released From Hospital, Will Travel Home Sunday Night
Marco Bezzecchi has escaped without serious injury from his horrific high-speed crash at the Ramshoek, Turn 15 at Assen in the second lap of the Dutch TT MotoGP race. The Aprilia Racing rider lost the front at one of the fastest and scariest corners on the circuit, and started tumbling when he hit the gravel, traveling a long way and narrowly missing a tire wall at Assen.
After the crash, Bezzecchi was transferred to the Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen hospital for further examinations, the Italian complaining of severe pain. There were no signs of neurological damage and had normal mobility in his limbs.
Bezzecchi was released from hospital after undergoing a number of scans, with no signs of serious injury. Aprilia released the following brief statement after he was discharged from hospital:
