Cal Crutchlow To Replace Johann Zarco In LCR Honda At Mugello Cal Crutchlow is set to make a surprise return to the MotoGP grid. The British rider has been called up by the LCR Honda Team to replace the injured Johann Zarco. Though Crutchlow has a long and very successful history with the LCR team, his recall is something of a surprise. Under normal circumstances, Zarco would be replaced by a Honda test rider, but a combination of injury and the 2027 rule changes have limited Honda's choices. Aleix Espargaro is still recovering from fracturing his vertebrae in a testing crash at Sepang earlier this year. HRC want Takaaki Nakagami to focus on developing the 850cc Honda RC214V for next year, and don't want him on a 1000cc bike.
