Le Mans MotoGP Preview: You Don't Need A Street Circuit To Host A Festival Of Racing
There has been much talk of the changes Liberty Media would like to bring to MotoGP now that they own it. The drive to follow F1, bring the racing closer to cities, provide more entertainment for the fans, turn MotoGP into more of a festival.
We have already seen examples of the direction MotoGP wants to go. The Argentinian Grand Prix is being moved from the remote Termas de Rio Hondo circuit to the Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez just outside Buenos Aires. The discarding of the glorious Phillip Island to the Adelaide Street Circuit in the East Parklands district of the Australian city. And today, at the presentation for the Catalonia round of MotoGP in Barcelona, circuit bosses announced a "Fan Fest" to be held at the Plaça Catalunya in the center of the city.
