A report in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery proposes using a microsurgical technique called lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA) to help clear the toxic proteins that build up in Alzheimer's patients' brains.

According to the study, it's a plumbing problem. Your brain has a waste-removal network called the glymphatic system, regulated by glia cells, that flushes out neurotoxic waste, including amyloid-beta and tau buildup, which are central to Alzheimer's. — Read the rest
