I'm sorry but that seems to me like it would be a problem with how this is set up, and not something in the browser? Shadow DOM is tricky at the best of times. The RSS icon has a z-index of 600 so would be covering the icon. if it hides itself entirely as a result (with display:none or what not) then... I'm not sure what is expected. the shadow dom node isn't in the foreground so having it draw on top of the rss icon would be wrong, for starters.
