They should have asked first. They are violating 3a of the redist license, unless the target OS will ONLY allow AppImage (which would fall under the exception carveout). I also don't know what an AppImage does otherwise when running it through the tool; if it bundles any GPL3+ licensed binaries within the AppImage package with it, it'll additionally violate the existing source code licensing.

There's a reason point 3b exists. I researched the whole licensing deal before and Mozilla is actually breaking with the GPL/MPL by distributing Firefox as Snap/AppImage/etc.
