That would mean over the 7 year lifespan (of updates) of my Pixel 8a I would pay nearly $700 in insurance - almost twice what I paid for it in the first place. In what universe does that stack up financially? After 3 years of putting that $8 into a bank account accruing interest I could buy a brand new device anyway. Look after your devices people.
