Before i begin, here is my brief setup:

Well, it’s started because Mega imposing per IP limits on free plan (which is really annoying, because i do NOT use internet without VPN (yeah, i know that VPN is just about shifting trust from ISP to VPN, but my VPN provider at least do not ask for gov ID (ISP, i am looking at you) and claiming not to log anything) at all) plus it had pretty huge security concerns in the past.
So i decided to move away.
Mega gave 20GB free storage, which is really generous, so that would be an issue (or so i thought).
I used Mega only as photos and configurations backup solutions, so i never exceeded 15GB.
First of all, i decided to try Koofr for my “shelf” storage after reading this thread. To be more precise Koofr Vault (not plain-text Koofr). Yeah, you can use Cryptomator, but i try to avoid additional software.
It gave me 10 GB for free and it is more than enough (now i used only 7GB).
For main storage I use Proton Drive (10 GB too (forever, i am on Proton Pass + Simplelogin Lifetime)) because it is just more convenient for me.
For storage of photos i went with 2 FREE Ente accounts (support said that this is ok)

This gave me 20GB for storing photos (i needed to separate accounts for personal reasons)
So this setup gave me 40GB of cloud storage for free. Without proprietary clients and bandwidth limitations.
As cool bonus, i got Ente locker feature (awesome for storing some medical PDFs, which always just asked to be lost)
As for storing sensitive data, i use Picocrypt NG before uploading anywhere.
