Didn’t read all comments fully, but this highlights Bitwarden bad framing of things. Let say this happened.
Senior exec: Hey, in the future we might want to remove the free plan or make it more basic ?
How it happen at Bitwarden:
Another exec: sure. let’s remove all wording that says it’s always free. ==> Big backlash.
How it happens at another company (Ente):
Another exec: Sure, let’s remove always free but specificy any existing user will be grandfathered in (that’s what they do for Ente Auth). ==> No big backlash.
