Coreboot port for a AMD motherboard

Looks like 3mdeb are working on Coreboot port for a AMD motherboard.

coreboot is one step closer to being bootable on MSI's AM5 Pro B850-P motherboard, after fixing USB initialization and PCIe enumeration issues.

I would need a high-end desktop for helping a friend on a project at the start of next year, and I might as well double it as a gaming PC.

I know security and firmware updates are a joke for consumer desktops, but what are the pros and cons of going for this board over a normal consumer AMD motherboard?
