US could ask tourists for five-year social media history before entry

The European Union is weaker then the US but we are not a third world country that they can push arround and we can and should mirror their sanctions. This is not limited to the immigration policies but especially towards their trade customs.
Respectfully, that term is offensive and outdated. It’s my understanding that preferable terms are Global South , Less Developed Countries (LDCs), or Low and Middle Income Countries (LMIC). Or you can just call those countries by their name.
All that being said, yes, it’s true, despite being weaker, the EU has enough leverage to deter the United States on some policies, at least for some time. But when the EU does the exact same thing to less developed countries, they are not standing on morals. They are being hypocrites. Privacy for me but not for thee.
I have a lot of EU friends whose family had to go through an extreme privacy invasive application process just to come visit them. I haven’t been to the US since they adopted this policy, but I have friends who have against my advice. A lot of Europeans are discovering for the first what millions of people from less developed countries have to go through, and it never dawns on most of them to have a shred of empathy.
