Man fatally shot in Grand Crossing

A man was shot to death Friday night in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

Officers responded about 10:20 p.m. to the 100 block of East 71st Street, where they found the 49-year-old man lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the cheek and shoulder, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No arrests were reported.
