Man shot and killed in Brighton Park

A man was fatally shot in Brighton Park Sunday evening, police said.

The man, 40, was in a vehicle in the 3800 block of South California Avenue around 7:30 p.m. when someone approached and fired shots, according to Chicago police.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No one is in custody and detectives are investigating.
