He’s suddenly aware that he has Peter in his arms. The fire on the kid’s shirt had gone out. Peter was growing cold. Screams echo in his ears– his probably, there’s no one else around. He can’t care whether or not he’s screaming though. He doesn’t care if he loses his voice, if it meant that Peter would hear it and wake up.

Something’s dripping down his face. Something wet. It slides into his mouth and he can taste salt. He doesn’t know when he opened his helmet. His hair is soaked now, but Tony couldn’t care less.

(The kid’s blood is on his hands.)

He stops running, and just… lets his legs give up. He lands hard on the ground, jarring the body. Muffled apologies spill from his mouth.

(This is all his fault.)

Tony can't breathe.
