WW 161 SEVERE TSTM AR KS MO OK 271910Z - 280200Z URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 161 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 210 PM CDT Mon Apr 27 2026 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Northwest Arkansas Southeast Kansas Western Missouri Northeast Oklahoma * Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 210 PM until 900 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5 inches in diameter possible Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...At least isolated severe thunderstorms should further develop across the region within a very unstable environment in the presence of strong deep-layer winds. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles north and south of a line from 50 miles south southwest of Chanute KS to 45 miles north northeast of Springfield MO.
