WW 185 SEVERE TSTM TX 061330Z - 061800Z URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 185 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 830 AM CDT Wed May 6 2026 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Texas Hill Country * Effective this Wednesday morning and afternoon from 830 AM until 100 PM CDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible SUMMARY...A few severe thunderstorms will likely yield a risk for large hail and locally severe gusts through the morning and midday hours as this activity moves east this morning near a west to east oriented frontal zone. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles north and south of a line from 60 miles west southwest of Junction TX to 30 miles northeast of Austin TX. REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
