Grokipedia Thinks I Wrote About Persona Q2 (I Have Never Played Persona Q2)

I became aware that Grokipedia, the Grok-powered AI answer to Wikipedia, had cited to my NLJ article Outline Guide to Persona 3 FES The Answer. I previously wrote about Grokipedia making questionable use of one of my anime reviews. But it cited to my Persona 3 article for its entry Characters of Persona 3 (see also April 6, 2026 archived copy).

Setting aside the failed attempt at using italics in the headline, I am sure it used my article correctly.

Right?

The article it cited to is a combination anecdote-guide. Back in 2010-11, I wrote a plain text “guide” to The Answer epilogue in Persona 3 FES for a friend. The guide listed which parties to bring for dungeon runs, without spoiling the story or which strategies to employ beyond my party recommendations. I used the guide myself several years later when I played through The Answer with Victor V. Gurbo. My article did not focus on the story , but I did offer a brief introduction setting up The Answer (with spoilers since The Answer presupposes familiarity with the full main story of Persona 3).

My article is footnote 116 in the Grokipedia entry. I searched for “116” in the text. Grokipedia cites to my article seven times, all in a section about Hikari? This set of an alarm bell. Despite having played through Persona 3 FES multiple times, I do not know who Hikari is. The reason is made clear by Grokipedia: “Hikari is a young woman introduced in Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth …” Persona Q2 is a real game. However, I have never played Persona Q2. I will assume arguendo that Hikari is a real character in that game, but having never played it, I am not familiar with her.

I reviewed my original article and confirmed that I did not write anything about a video game character I had never heard of. I will note additionally that all of the stories I shared in my Persona 3 Answer guide article pre-date Persona Q2 , which was released in 2018. Thus, while I am flattered that Grokipedia cites to me as an authority on the character of Hikari, I must disappoint any readers who are looking for my Hikari takes.

Grokipedia… I don’t know man.
