How to watch the World Cup 2026 on TV: BBC and ITV channel schedule for every game

Football fans will be in dreamland over the next five weeks with all 104 World Cup games set to be shown live on TV.

Millions of people across the country will be tuning in to catch a glimpse of the action, which gets underway tonight, with the BBC and ITV once again sharing the broadcasting rights in the UK.

Several late nights and early mornings await for TV viewers, however, with the tournament taking place across the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Whilst the most high-profile group stage matches have been scheduled for relatively sociable hours, including England’s fixtures against Croatia (9pm), Ghana (9pm) and Panama (10pm), several other games likely to be of particular interest to UK audiences have been handed a less favourable slot.

Chief amongst them is Scotland’s first taste of World Cup football since 1998, with Steve Clarke’s men taking on Haiti in their opening game at 2am on Sunday morning.

South American heavyweights Brazil and Argentina also have matches scheduled for the early hours of the morning, whilst Spain’s intriguing clash with Uruguay is billed to start at 1am.

Thankfully for those wishing to stream the action in bed, BBC and ITV will also show their allocated TV games live on BBC iPlayer and ITVX respectively.
