CAMM2 Memory specification published

New space-saving RAM sticks that jam up to 128GB of memory in a laptop get industry's stamp of approval - CAMM2 standard ratified by JEDEC

SO-DIMM's successor is official.

Intereting new part: Connector between LPDDR and DDR version is the same, but pinout and mounting holes are different. There's 2-channel version and 1-channel version. 1-channel CAMMs expected to be used where high memory capacity per channel is required. Trace lengths get weirder. With DIMM, each trace from the cpu traveled the same length, but in this format, there's some adjustments for each pin.

Would be cool If this can actually lead to higher mem speed

Here's some diagrams from jedec pdf
