5 great campsites in The Netherlands

There are many campsites in The Netherlands. And a lot of people in The Netherlands like to co out camping. Manay families have a caravan, tent or camper. But on most campsites there are also facilities for rent. Houses or tents. Often the rental tents are more luxury than bringing your own, hence the term ‘glamping’ We like to travel with our small ful electric Citroen eBerlingo campervan. And these are some of the campsites we like to recommend De ReCreatie – Leusden We love De ReCreatie. It’s a campsite with a very friendly atmosphere. A lot of creative people and many great activities from yoga classes to music around the campfire. They have a lot of very special renting facilities like an old bus or a retro camper. In the central area they have weekly joint meals, a great way to meet other people. De ReCreatie is located in an area great for walking and biking. Kallumaan – Kraggenburg Kallumaan is campsite that feels like a festival. And actually the location is used for festivals too. It has a lot of playgrounds and a number of nice bars and restaurants. It’s a huge terrain (and you probably will stay on the campsite most of the time) It has water to swim or rent a little boat. Their are large spaces for tents, campers and caravans but also renting facilities Het Goeie Leven – Eerde Het Goeie Leven is a campsite we discovered accidentally when looking for a place to lunch when cycling in the area. It has a very nice restaurant. A very friendly campsite in an area that is great for hiking and cycling. Bij Ons – Groesbeek We love the Nijmegen area with it’s hills and the very pleasant city of Nijmegen. Camping Bij Ons is a very nice campsite on biking distance of Nijmegen. They have very special rental facilities, like on old shopping trailer and domes. They have a bar with terrace and regular pizza nights. Oosterdriessen – Eijsden A campsite on the board of a lake. Just a ferry across the river from Belgium. And a short bike trip from Maastricht, one of the most beautiful cities in The Netherlands. That is camping Oosterdriessen. We loved biking into Belgium and enjoying the great restaurants of Maastricht.
