Assetto Corsa Rally update 0.5 is almost here for Steam Early Access players and this one brings a lot more than a few fixes. The big addition is Rally Greece with two gravel special stages, Elatia and Loutraki. Elatia is the faster of the two, built around high average speeds and sweeping corners, while Loutraki is tighter, rougher and more technical. The update also introduces the first phase of online multiplayer. Players will be able to create custom lobbies or jump into official ACR lobbies for single-stage events with up to 16 drivers. Custom rooms can be adjusted with weather settings and car restrictions, while the official developer-run lobbies will keep multiple active events open so players have somewhere to race. A rotating calendar is also being added, with two standard weekly events and a premium weekend event running from Friday through Sunday. On the physics side, update 0.5 brings a reworked tire model, improved surface recognition, new bulldozing effects on gravel, updated camber behavior, added vibration detail and a full retune across cars, surfaces and setup presets. The gravel changes are meant to make the tires dig in and build grip in a more believable way, especially on softer surfaces. Kunos says this physics refactor is part of a longer plan for Assetto Corsa Rally. In the short term, it gets the current cars and stages feeling better. After that, the team plans to bring back tire and brake temperature behavior, tire wear and more advanced suspension setup options for rough rally surfaces. Longer term, the renewed work with MegaRide should help push the tire model and vehicle dynamics even further. Rally Greece brings two familiar-style tests. Loutraki starts near town before climbing into the hills of Aghii Theodori with dusty roads, stones, boulders, fast sections, wide turns and tighter winding stretches that demand focus. Elatia, near the town of the same name, connects Elatia and Zeli with wide gravel roads, ruts, exposed rocks and fast corners that let drivers lean on the car but still punish sloppy inputs. Since the physics have changed, leaderboards will be reset so everyone is competing under the same conditions. Update 0.5 also includes improvements across audio, gameplay, UI, visual effects, environments and bug fixes based on player feedback. Make sure to check out the full patch notes on Steam.
