The rice roll came in a shallow pool of soy-based sauce, with the egg almost fused into the rice sheet. Unlike popular cloth-pulled cheung fun (布拉肠粉) in Hongkong or oversea Cantonese restaurances, Shantou-style cheung fun is usually served whole rather than cut into pieces.
